There are two main models of ATI TV USB TV Tuner; one is stick sized and the
other is box sized. Both are hybrid tuners. A major difference between the two is that the stick sized model is
only capable of getting one type of channel at a time (digital or analog), whereas the box sized model can receive
both of these simultaneously. On the other hand, the stick sized ATI TV tuner has the added feature of being
compatible with Windows 7; in contrast the box sized model is designed only for Windows XP and Vista.

This ATI TV USB TV tuner is a hybrid tuner; picking up both digital and analog TV
signals. It can also record TV, pause, fast-forward and rewind. It comes with a basic antenna, a remote control,
viewing software, and a USB extension cable. Although this USB TV tuner picks up signals wirelessly, a cable is
also included to allow for wired inputs via an F-type coaxial or a S-video input port.
It is compatible with Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP. (This same model comes in a separate Mac
version also). This is one of the few models of USB TV tuner that works well with Windows 7, although users may
need to be careful when installing the drivers. Users were impressed with ease of use of the provided software; ATI
Catalyst Media Center.

This box-sized ATI TV USB TV tuner is a hybrid tuner capable of picking up both digital TV
signals (wirelessly, with supplied antenna) and analog TV signals (via a cable wire). It can also pick up FM radio.
This ATI USB TV tuner is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, but not Windows 7.
A USB cable is supplied to connect this ATI TV USB TV tuner to the computer. A major strength of
this USB TV tuner is its ability to record in several different video formats; MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV
and H.264. The included software's ability to convert between these different formats is a big plus which is not
frequently seen in the USB TV tuner market.
Another strength which sets this ATI TV USB TV tuner model apart from other hybrid tuners is its ability to pick
up analog and digital at the same time (many other varieties can pick these up sequentially, not
simultaneously). Therefore it is possible to record a digital channel while watching an analog one, or vice
versa. It is also possible to watch two channels simultaneously via the ATI Catalyst Media Center's
picture-in-picture feature. Users were also pleased with the ability of this ATI TV USB TV tuner to work with Windows Media Center.
