Diamond USB TV Tuner
Diamond USB TV Tuner
There are two stick-sized models and one box-sized model of Diamond USB TV
tuner currently available.
Diamond TVW 750 USB TV Tuner
This is a stick-sized hybrid USB TV tuner which can pick up both analog and digital TV signals
and QAM digital cable (QAM refers to unencrypted cable channels; typically local TV stations). As well as recording
TV, fast-forwarding, rewinding and pausing, this Diamond USB TV tuner can also pick up FM radio. Users reported
high satisfaction with the ability of this Diamond USB TV tuner to pick up channels, but installation (and
technical support if needed) were not always straightforward, mainly with Windows 7. In particular, users recommend
using Diamond's bundled software as a viewing platform to avoid problems rather than Windows Media Player. This TV
tuner is a hybrid, but like most hybrids, it is only able to pick up one type of TV signal at a time, so users
should be aware that they will be unable to watch analog and digital TV simultaneously.
A major strength of this Diamond USB TV tuner is its impressive support for TV formats in
various different parts of the world. It can handle the US-based ATSC and NTSC formats; DVB-T format used mainly in
Europe, Australia, South Africa and India and in some areas of other countries; PAL format used in a very wide
range of countries (the analog equivalent of DVB-T); and SECAM format used in many African countries, some European
countries, and former USSR states.
Diamond HDTV110 XtremeTV USB TV Tuner
This stick-sized Diamond USB TV tuner is actually a hybrid tuner, able to pick up both analog
and digital TV, and analog cable (the latter via a wired connection). It is capable of recording TV,
fast-forwarding, rewinding and pausing. It comes with a compact telescoping antenna, although some users report
better picture quality with 'rabbit ears' antenna. Ability to pick up channels is good (and this USB TV tuner has
an auto-scan feature for this purpose), but depends significantly on the location relative to broadcast towers.
Users in metropolitan areas tended not to have any problems getting the TV channels, but those more than 40 miles
away from transmitter towers may find it hard to get channels, even with the antenna.
A big advantage which sets this Diamond USB TV tuner apart from others is the included software's ability to
play back media from other sources, such as MP3, video, photo, and DVD (as well as recorded TV).

Diamond XtremeTV PVR660 USB TV Tuner
This box-sized Diamond USB TV tuner receives analog TV and analog cable. This tuner can
additionally record TV, pause, fast-forward and rewind for a DVR-like experience. Setting it apart from most other
models is its additional ability to pick up FM radio. Users are pleased with this USB TV tuner's ability to predict
how much hard drive space is needed for recording a show before the recording is started, to help ensure there is
sufficient room for each new recording. This tuner is also designed to be compatible with satellite receivers.
An advantage of this Diamond USB TV tuner is its ability to handle the different analog TV
formats in different parts of the world; it is compatible with the NTSC, PAL, and SECAM formats. This USB TV
tuner works very well for users in regions where analog TV or analog cable is being broadcast.
